WOMAN STABBED TO DEATH IN THE SOUTH EAST
A man has been arrested after a young woman was stabbed to death in Kilkenny city last night.
The 28 year old died in hospital after the attack.
It happened at a shop in the Market Cross centre where the woman was working at around half past eight.
She suffered several knife wounds before her attacker fled the scene.
The 28 year old was rushed by ambulance to St Luke’s Hospital for treatment, however she was later pronounced dead.
A man in his mid 20’s was arrested after Gardai launched a search of the area, and has been taken to Kilkenny Garda station for questioning.
A post mortem is expected to be carried out on the young woman’s remains later.
