WEXFORD SINN FEIN CANDIDATE CRITICISES LABOUR OVER HOUSE BUILDING PLANS
A Wexford General Election Candidate says Labour has turned the housing crisis into a national emergency.
Sinn Fein’s Johnny Mythen has criticised the party’s planned investement in the area if they’re re-elected.
He says they’ve already had a number of years to sort out the problem but to no avail.
The councillor says it’s a major issue for people as the housing list in the county reaches almost 4,000;
“We feel that that…you know it’s it’s a bit…contentious of of the Minister to say that all of a sudden they’re going to build these houses when you know…this problem didn’t arise overnight.” he said.
“I dealt with this… three cases in the last week alone, people had 28 days to get out of their homes, one was …a young couple, about 25 years of age, they had a 4 month-old baby, they had 28 days to go and get out on the street – nowhere to go” he added.
