WEXFORD HAS HIGHEST NUMBER OF REPOSSESSIONS OUTSIDE DUBLIN AND CORK
County Wexford had the highest number of repossession orders granted in the country last year outside of Dublin and Cork.
The data has been compiled by the Courts Service and published today.
The number of primary homes and buy-to-let houses repossessed by lenders increased by 20 percent last year.
County Wexford had 80 such orders granted, 40 were for principal private residences and 40 for buy-to-let and other properties.
This figures are the highest in the country, second only to the main urban centres of Dublin and Cork.
Numbers are set to increase again this year as there were a number of conflicting judgements late last year which saw many cases withdrawn or adjourned.
These cases will be re-entered later this year once the Court of Appeal clarifies the matter.
