WEXFORD GARDA FOUND NOT GUILTY OF THEFT
A Wexford Garda accused of the theft of over 3,000 euro in overtime allowances, has been found not guilty by direction of a Circuit Court judge.
44 year old Ciaran Folan, from Ramstown, Fethard-on-sea was accused of claiming overtime for shifts he didn’t do.
After hearing legal argument this morning, trial judge Tom O’Donnell, found that, payslips – which were to be used as part of the prosecution’s case – were in fact “inadmissible” as evidence.
He directed the jury to find Garda Folan “not guilty on all five counts”.
