The Irish Blood Transfusion Service says blood stocks are very low at at the moment across all types.
The service says whilst this is not at critical level yet they are appealing to the people of Wexford to donate at the local clinic.
A spokesperson said the donors of Wexford have always answered the call donating approximately 600 units of blood per visit, which would go a long way to alleviating the present shortage of available blood.
In Wexford town the IBTS will have clinics in the Talbot Hotel for the next two Mondays and Tuesdays from 4.30 to 8pm each day. There will be an extra clinic on Sunday the 24th from noon to 3.30pm.
