TWO PEOPLE ARRESTED OVER BELFAST MURDER OF KEVIN MCGUIGAN
Two people have been arrested in relation to the murder of former Provisional IRA member Kevin McGuigan.
The 53 year old – who was a suspect in the murder of Gerard “Jock” Davison in May – was shot dead at his home on Wednesday night.
Police have arrested a 44 year old man and a 39 year old woman as part of the investigation.
Alan Murray is a Belfast-based security correspondent.
“A week ago a group calling itself Action Against Drugs said that it would execute those involved in the “Jock” Davison murder” he said.
“It said it was a group which was made up of former provisionals and people who had been involved in direct action against drugs – which “Jock” Davison was involved in many, many years ago after the ceasefires, which went about shooting dead drug dealers” he added.
