TRIAL OF WOMAN ACCUSED OF ASSISTING A SUICIDE TO BEGIN ON MONDAY
A jury has been sworn in for the trial of a woman accused of assisting a suicide.
43 year-old Gail O’Rorke of Kilclare Gardens in Tallaght in Dublin, has pleaded not guilty.
She’s accused of aiding, abetting, counselling or procuring the suicide of 51 year-old Bernadette Ford by helping her to procure and administer a toxic substance between April 20th 2011 and June 6th that year at a location in Dublin.
Judge Patricia Ryan told potential jurors that the case involves an alleged assisted suicide and warned them not to serve if they think they could not approach the case without bias or prejudice.
The jury will begin hearing evidence in the trial before Judge Patrick McCartan on Monday morning.
