The two Irish athletes who’ve had their results upgraded as a result of a global investigation into doping in sport have been expressing thier delight at the news today.
Today the international court of arbitration for sport has ruled that Race Walkers Robert Heffernan and Olive Loughnane will be upgraded with Olympic bronze and World gold medals after the formal disqualification of the drugs cheats in their events.
Loughnane is being upgraded from silver to gold over 20km in the 2009 World Championships in Berlin.
