THE NUMBER OF NEW BULDINGS IN COUNTY WEXFORD IN 2013 IS ALMOST HALF THE NUMBER OF 2012
The figures reflect a national decline of 36 per cent.
The figures from GeoDirectory – Ireland’s database of commercial and residential buildings – show a 49 per cent decline in new buildings in County Wexford in 2013.
There were 285 new buildings in the County last year – 241 were residential properties, 37 were commercial properties while 7 were dual purpose buildings.
The new data also shows that 15 buildings or roughly 5 per cent of this new commercial and residential stock in County Wexford are vacant.
Nationally there was a 36 per cent decrease while Dublin was the only County to record an increase.
The Capital saw a 47 per cent increase in new buildings in 2013 when compared to the previous year.
