TAOISEACH SAYS THERE’S ‘ABSOLUTELY UNANIMITY’ TO KEEP GREECE IN THE EURO
The Taoiseach says Eurozone leaders are absolutely unanimous in their support for keeping Greece in the single currency.
There is renewed optimism that a Greek default can be avoided, after Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras brought forward new proposals yesterday evening.
Meanwhile, the ECB has extended cash to Greece’s lenders to help deal with funding shortages following the withdrawal of over 30 billion euro from banks since last October.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny says European leaders are now committed to keeping Greece in the Euro.
“Around the table yesterday evening there was absolutely unanimity that there should be no exit by Greece from the Eurozone, an that everybody would work together with the institutions and the government in Greece to work this out” he said.
“So I hope that can happen” he added.
