TANAISTE DOESN’T RULE OUT INQUIRY INTO ALLEGED GARDA MISCONDUCT
The Tánaiste has not ruled out an inquiry into the issues surrounding alleged garda misconduct reported by a number of whistleblowers in the force.
Eamon Gilmore has also declared the issue of the position of the Justice Minister is not for discussion and he has full confidence in Alan Shatter.
The Cabinet will tomorrow examine documents given to the Taoiseach by the Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin.
Mr. Gilmore says they have to address the issues.
“I think the important thing is that we deal with the substance of material that was supplied last week” he said.
“We’re taking it very seriously, we’re looking at it very seriously and we’ll deal with it at Cabinet tomorrow” he added.
