SPORT: WEXFORD UNDER 21 HURLERS OUT OF THE LEINSTER CHAMPIONSHIP
Wexford’s U21 Footballers bowed out of the Eirgrid Leinster Championship last night.
They lost 4-12 to 1-11 to Laois in Bellefield.
There was nothing to separate the two sides at the break, but goals from Tom Shiels, Evin Keane and Evan O’Carroll ensured the O’Moore men triumphed by a 10-point margin.
Laois will now host Dublin in the second round.
Meanwhile Louth will travel to Newtowncashel to face Longford next Wednesday after defeating Carlow in Darver on a 3-11 to 2-10 scoreline.
Louth goalscorer Cian Doyle was dismissed in the second half but the Wee County had enough in reserve to reach the second round.
