SPORT: WEXFORD UNDER 21 FOOTBALLERS FAIL TO REACH LEINSTER SEMI-FINAL
Wexford were beaten by Westmeath by just a single point in their Leinster Under 21 football quarter final last night.
Despite being level on three occasions throughout the second half, David Power’s team couldn’t find the second gear they needed to move away from their opponents at St Patrick’s Park.
The final score was Westmeath 1-5 Wexford 0-7.
Meanwhile Dublin continued their defence of the Under 21 title.
Con O’Callaghan kicked 1-7 of a 1-12 to 0-9 victory over Meath at Parnell Park to set up a semi final meeting with either Laois or Wicklow.
Westmeath will face Kildare in the other semi final.
