SPORT: IRELAND TO FACE ITALY IN A FRIENDLY THIS SUMMER
The Republic of Ireland will take on Italy this summer after the FAI announced another end-of-season fixture for Martin O’Neill’s side.
The game will be staged at Fulham’s Craven Cottage on May 31st, which comes just six days after a friendly against Turkey at the Aviva Stadium.
Italy will use the game as preparation for their trip to the World Cup in Brazil, where they’ve been drawn in Group D alongside England, Uruguay and Costa Rica.
The FAI says it’s still in the process of arranging further matches for this summer, with a proposed two-game tour of the US featuring mooted games against Portual and Costa Rica yet to be finalised.
