SPORT: D’ARCY LEFT OUT OF SQUAD FOR SUMMER TOUR TO ARGENTINA
Wexford’s Gordan D’Arcy is a one of the big names not to be included in the squad for the summer tour to Argentina.
Ireland coach Joe Schmidt has named four uncapped players with Ulster back row Robbie Diack joined by his provincial team-mate, hooker Rob Herring.
Welsh-born Connacht scrum-half Kieran Marmion also gets the nod, as does Munster prop James Cronin.
While Dave Kearney misses out after picking up a knee injury in Leinster’s Rabo Pro 12 semi final win over Ulster on Saturday and Sean O’Brien and Cian Healy are being rested.
Ireland will play two tests against Pumas, in Resistancia on June 7th and in Tucuman on June 14th.
Meanwhile, Leinster coach Matt O’Connor is hopeful Brian O’Driscoll will make the Rabo final in under a fortnight’s time.
The retiring centre was substituted with a neck injury at the RDS, but O’Connor says he should make the decider against Glasgow.
In other rugby news Jonny Wilkinson has confirmed his retirement from rugby.
The 2003 World Cup winner will line out for Toulon against Saracens on Saturday, with his final game coming in the French Top 14 final on May 31st.
