Gardai across County Wexford are advising motorists to drive with extreme care over the St. Patrick’s Day Bank Holiday weekend.
New figures released as part of a major safety campaign show one in five fatal road accident victims last year were not wearing a seatbelt.
Garda checkpoints will be mounted around Co. Wexford – targeting seatbelt use.
The compliance rate increased from 72 per cent in 2002 – to 93 per cent in 2012.
