SIPTU WORKERS AT TWO WEXFORD DISABILITY ORGANISATIONS TO HOLD DAY OF ACTION
SIPTU members at two Wexford disability organisations are to hold a day of action next week.
Workers at Ard Aoibhinn Services in Wexford Town and County Wexford Community Workshop in Enniscorthy are to protest next Tuesday.
SOS Services in Kilkenny will also be affected by the move.
SIPTU Organiser, David Morris says their members have been badly let down by the refusal of the management of these organisations to pay them what they are owed.
In a statement he says the workers have explored every avenue open to them to find a solution to this dispute and now feel they have no option but to take action to highlight the situation.
The row centres on the withdrawal of HSE funding for salary increments in 2010, which have since been restored, however HSE funded Section 39 organisations such as the three groups involved have not seen them re-instated.
David Morris says the employer has accepted a Labour Court ruling on the matter but the HSE has refused to fund the resulting cost of paying the increments that are due to their members.
