SHOTS FIRED AT GARDAI IN ENNISCORTHY ARMED RAID
Gunshots were fired at Gardaí in Enniscorthy overnight, during an ATM raid in the town.
It happened at Ulster Bank in Enniscorthy – but no one was injured.
At around 3.30am, Gardaí were called to the Ulster Bank on Rafter Street in Enniscorthy where a number of armed raiders were trying to steal an ATM machine.
The thieves fired shots at the uniformed officers – while they were still in the patrol car – but no one was injured.
The raiders then made their getaway in a dark coloured car in the direction of New Ross.
The area has been sealed off this morning – while Gardaí carry out a technical examination.
Gardaí say they’re still trying to establish whether any money was taken. They’re appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
