Rosslare Europort could be in line for structural funds from the EU.
The case is being made in Europe by Fine Gael MEP Sean Kelly.
He says with the UK leaving the European Union Ireland needs to strengthen its ties with the continent.
He says one way of doing this is through the improvement of our ports.
