RISE IN PEOPLE CHOOSING WEXFORD AS A HOLIDAY DESTINATION
County Wexford retains its lead as the most popular destination in the south east for domestic visitors.
The county also saw support for vacationing in the county rise to 10 per cent, according to a new survey.
The survey of more than 5,000 people was carried out by MyHome.ie
10 per cent of respondents said County Wexford was their favourite holiday destination in the country.
This is up from last year and puts the county in 4th position when it comes to holiday breaks at home.
Wexford is exceeded by only three counties as a favourite holiday destination and they are Kerry, Galway and Cork.
Clare is 5th and Donegal is in 6th position.
Other counties in the south east – Waterford, Carlow and KIlkenny – all saw a drop in support for a holiday destination in the survey.
Wexford, Galway and Clare saw the greatest increase as favored county to take a holiday in.
