RIOT POLICE CALLED IN TO CONTROL CROWDS IN KATHMANDU

Tensions are rising in Nepal, after what officials admit has been a ‘weak’ response to the earthquake which has killed more than 5,000 people.

Riot police have been drafted in to help control angry crowds of people trying to leave the capital Kathmandu.

Survivors stranded in remote villages and towns are still waiting for aid and relief, with authorities unable to reach many mountainous areas despite supplies and personnel pouring in from around the world.

This man says there is been too much focus on the capital city.

“Most of the help has been centralised here in Kathmandu only – they don’t have hospitals out there, they don’t have medicines outside…nothing” he said.
