RACKARD MEDAL SELLS FOR THREE TIMES MORE THAN IT’S RESERVE
The All Ireland medal of Wexford hurling legend Nicky Rackard sold for three times above the expected price yesterday.
The 1955 silverware made a record price of 17,500 euro and was sold at auction yesterday by auctioneers Fonsie Mealy from Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny.
The auction took place at a hotel in Dublin.
The medal was bought back by the Rackard family.
It had been expected to make in the region of 5,000 to 7,000 euro.
