The Duke of Edinburgh’s decided to no longer carry out public engagements from the autumn.
Buckingham Palace says the 95-year-old has the full support of the Queen – who will carry on as normal.
It comes after a meeting of household staff took place earlier at Buckingham Palace in the UK.
