POWER CUTS UPDATE – SUNDAY LUNCHTIME
ESB Networks say customers in the most rural areas may be without power until Thursday.
Storm Darwin caused widespread damage to the electricity network, with the South of the country worst affected.
Over 25,000 customers remained without power this morning across the south of the country.
The main faults are in Tralee, Newcastlewest, Fermoy, Dunmanway, Killarney, Bandon and Waterford.
Some areas of south Wexford remain without power and the ESB says there’s an unknown fault on a 10Kv line extending along the area affected.
Three and a half thousand customers lost power again last night and about 800 of them remain without power.
The ESB says it can’t estimate when power will be restored to these areas but crews are trying to dientify the fault.
