OPINIONS DIFFER IN RELATION TO ATTRACTING IDA SUPPORTED COMPANIES TO CO. WEXFORD
County Wexford continues to have the least amount of visits in the country from the IDA for inward investment.
The figures were brought to the attention of the new South East Regional Manager of the IDA, Ann Marie Tierney Le Roux, on a debate on Morning Mix today.
She says the focus for IDA Ireland is to deliver projects in the regional locations and that she has to look at the South East region as a whole, look at the areas and the counties that can actually deliver projects and that Wexford in her mind is a very attractive location.
However Fine Gael TD Liam Twomey says we should be focusing on where there really is potential.
He says the potential is in small medium sized, indigenous businesses that will create the real jobs for County Wexford.
Deputy Twomey says these businesses are very much supported by a very deliberate policy that operates in the county working through the local enterprise offices and using Enterprise Ireland.
