Controversy has arisen over the naming of the new cable stay bridge as part of the New Roass bypass
The bridge one of the longest of its kind in the world has been given the name of the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy New Ross Bridge by unnanimous vote of New Ross Municipal District Council
However there is a call for more widespread consultation on the matter from Fianna Fail Councillor Michael Sheehan
