NEW BREAST CANCER TEST CAN REDUCE NEED FOR CHEMO
A new test to detect breast cancer can reduce the need for chemotherapy in 60 per cent of patients, according to Irish research.
The Oncotype Dx DNA test was carried out on 583 women.
It found that 339 of them did not need chemotherapy.
Researchers say it will allow for more tailored treatment options for women instead of a “one size fits all” use of chemo.
