Roadside drug-testing for all motorists is set to begin in March.
The Transport Department has confirmed that Gardai are being equipped with a portable device to carry out random checks on motorists for cannabis, cocaine and heroin.
Speaking to Alan Corcoran on South East Radios Morning Mix Conor Faughnan from the AA says it’ll be similar to the alcohol test.
He also believes that it’s difficult to enforce but well needed on Irish roads
