Waterford Airport is to receive a million euro in a grant allocation form the government
The money is to be spent on security and safety measures at the facility
However there is no scheduled service to or from Waterford Airport since VLM discontinued the London Luton route last June
The airport is now mainly used as a base for Waterford Search and Rescue Helicopter and private pilots
