MICHAELLA MCCOLLUM TOLD SHE CAN SERVE REMAINING SENTENCE IN NORTHERN IRELAND

A county Tyrone woman, jailed in Peru for drug smuggling, has been told she can serve the rest of her sentence in Northern Ireland.

Michaella McCollum and Scottish woman Melissa Reid were given nearly seven years in 2013.

Officials in Belfast have completed the paperwork for Michaella McCollum’s transfer.

Her solicitor’s described conditions in the prison she’s currently in as horrendous.
