MEETING BETWEEN MANAGMENT AND SIPTU OVER WATERFORD JOBS CONTINUES
Crisis talks on the future of the Bausch and Lomb plant are continuing in Co Waterford.
Management representatives and officials from SIPTU have been meeting since 9 o’clock this morning.
The company – which employs 11-hundred people – is seeking 200 redundancies and a 20 per cent pay cut from the remaining staff.
The contact lens manufacturer is warning that if an agreement isn’t reached on the proposals – it will be forced to close the facility in Waterford city.
