Man Appears In Court Over Damage To Hotel Paintings

MAN APPEARS IN COURT OVER DAMAGE TO HOTEL PAINTINGS

A man and his nephew have appeared in court charged with criminal damage of two paintings at the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin.

48-year-old Andrew Shannon with an address at Willans Way Ongar Dublin 15, and his nephew 19 year old Jamie Shannon of 10 Empress Place Dublin 1, have both been charged with causing criminal damage to the artwork on January 8th.

Andrew Shannon, who is awaiting trial for damaging a 10 million Euro Monet picture, has been denied bail and remanded in custody to appear in court again next Friday.

While, Jamie Shannon will appear in court again on March 14th.

The court heard that both paintings by Irish artist Felim Egan have a combined value of twenty eight thousand euro and have been damaged beyond repair.
