Major Travel Disruption As Bus Drivers Strike

MAJOR TRAVEL DISRUPTION AS BUS DRIVERS STRIKE

Bus Eireann is accusing unions of having a “cavalier” attitude towards their passengers and is urging them to return to talks.

Over a million people are being disrupted by the 48-hour strike at Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann.

Both companies will take High Court action today against the unions in a bid to recoup some of the combined 20 million euro lost as a result of today’s strike.

This is the first of up to six days of strike action by Bus Éireann and Dublin Bus drivers in their dispute over plans to tender out 10 per cent of routes.

It started at midnight after talks at the LRC collapsed.
