LOW CANCER RATES RECORDED IN CO. WEXFORD COMPARED TO NATIONAL AVERAGE
County Wexford is one of twelve counties to record significantly low rates of cancer.
This is when compared to the national average.
The figures from the National Cancer Registry are published today and contain data covering eighteen years from 1994 to 2012.
Wexford had lower rates of cancer in all types with 464 the average annual number of cases reported in the county.
Dublin, Cork and Kildare had the highest rates while Carlow, Wicklow and Waterford all had higher rates than Wexford or Kilkenny.
