There are a large number of open cases of alleged historic sex abuse in County Wexford.
According to figures published in today’s Irish Times the figures for the Waterford/Wexford area are the third highest in the country with 211 cases currently open at the end of January this year.
This figure is only exceeded by Cork and Louth/Meath.
These cases are generally based on reports made by adults about alleged abuse experienced in childhood.
