JUDGE IN EGYPT SENTENCES ALMOST 700 MEN TO DEATH IN MASS TRIAL
The supreme guide of the Muslim Brotherhood and 682 supporters were tried for their role in the deadly riots that erupted across the country last summer.
Hundreds of people were killed when security forces disbanded sit-ins by Brotherhood supporters loyal to ousted President Mohamed Morsi.
The same court also reversed 492 death sentences out of 529 it passed last month – sentencing the men to life in prison.
