The Red Devils says a caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the season.
Reports suggest that Michael Carrick will be placed in charge during that time.
They will conduct a recruitment process for a new full-time boss as soon as possible.
The news comes less than 48 hours after United’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool.
