JOHNSTOWN CASTLE TO BECOME FEATURE TOURIST DESTINATION IN WEXFORD
Following a Cabinet meeting today the Government has agreed to draft legislation to allow the Estate to be used for heritage, tourism, amenity or recreational purposes.
Teagasc has commissioned a preliminary report to explore the delivery of the project, and will now, in conjunction with the Office of Public Works, scope the project.
2.5 million euro has been provided in the 2014 Agriculture Estimates to meet capital costs.
Wexford TD Brendan Howlin warmly welcomed the plan to develop the Castle and grounds following today’s meeting.
