Increase In Those Signing On Last Month In The South East But Overall Decrease

INCREASE IN THOSE SIGNING ON LAST MONTH IN THE SOUTH EAST BUT OVERALL DECREASE

There’s been an increase in the numbers on the live register in the South East for June when compared with the figures for May.

However, when last month’s figures are compared with those for June 2013 there’s been a fall in the number of people who are unemployed in the region.

The latest report from the Central Statistics office show there were 1,186 more people on the live register in the South East last month when figures are compared with those for May of this year.

However there’s been a drop of 4,830 in the numbers signing on in the region when figures for June 2014 are compared with June 2013.

52,422 people are currently unemployed in the South East.

Meanwhile nationally there were 4,400 fewer people on the Live Register last month – bringing the number of people signing on across the country to 386,200.

The unemployment rate last month was 11.6 percent – down from 11.7 percent the previous month.
