IFA WHISTLEBLOWER MAKES LAST MINUTE BID TO BE IN THE RUNNING TO BECOME PRESIDENT
The IFA whistleblower who blew the lid on the pay scandal at the organisation is making a last minute bid to be put back in the running to become IFA president.
Derek Deane failed to get the backing of 6 county executives before Wednesday’s deadline of 5.30pm.
However when he checked his voicemail the next morning Deane discovered that the Monaghan county chairman had given him his backing at 5.15 Wednesday evening.
The Monaghan chairman transferred his support last minute from current Deputy President Tim O’Leary – who also failed to recieve a nomination.
Carlow IFA Chairman Derek Deane says he should be included on the ballot, despite the technical error with his voicemail.
