GERMAN PARLIAMENT APPROVES GREEK EXTENSION TO BAILOUT
Germany has overwhelmingly backed a four-month extension of Greece’s bailout.
The vote in the Bundestag was the only major parliamentary hurdle to granting approval from the Eurozone.
The German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble had urged MPs to vote in favour of the extension – he admitted it wasn’t an easy decision, but “a necessary one”.
Last night, protesters in Athens clashed with riot police – claiming the new leftist government had gone back on its pre-election pledges.
