FORMER PRESIDENT OF COCA COLA WHO’S ANCESTORS WERE FROM WEXFORD HAS DIED
The death has taken place of the former President of Coco Cola Donal Keough.
He was the great grandson of Michael Keough who emigrated from Wexford to America in the 1840s.
The Irish American businessman was very proud of his Irish roots and in particular County Wexford.
The former chief operations officer of Coco Cola was instrumental in establishing the Coco Cola research and development plant outside Wexford town and also three other Coco Cola facilities around the country.
Donald Keough had a special interest in the JFK Trust in New Ross and supported its expansion and development in 2013.
Aged 88, he served on the board of Coco Cola up to two years ago having been President of the multi national from 1981 to 1993.
He died in Atlanta, Gerogia yesterday where he had been in hospital suffering from pnuemonia and is survived by his wife Marilyn and family.
