FORMER ANGLO CEO TO TELL U.S COURT HE WILL NOT FIGHT EXTRADITION
David Drumm is expected to tell a US court later that he wants to return to Ireland.
The former Anglo boss will appear before a judge in Boston today.
It is understood he will not fight his extradition from the States – but he wants the DPP to grant him bail on his return to Ireland.
Mr Drumm is facing 33 criminal charges in this country relating to the collapse of Anglo Irish Bank.
And has offered to stick to strict bail conditions while he awaits trial.
Tom Lyons of the Sunday Business Post explains why bail is so important to Mr Drumm.
“He is facing into a very, very complicated trial where there is millions of documents involved” he said.
“And he feels if this trial is to be fair, he needs access to his lawyers and he needs access to these documents – and that would be something that would be impossible if he was detained awaiting his trial” he added.
