FIRE DESTROYS MARSHALSTOWN HOME
Gardai are continuing a forensic examination at a family home near Enniscorthy which was completely gutted by fire yesterday morning.
No-one was injured in the blaze, which happened in Marshalstown at the bungalow owned by Thomas and Breda Doyle at about 10am.
The blaze is understood to have begun in the attic of the house, which was completely destroyed as a result.
A smoke alarm was installed and this enabled the couple’s 15 year old son Diarmuid to escape from the house shortly before the roof collapsed.
Four units of the fire brigade from Enniscorthy and Wexford fought the blaze but were powerless to prevent the loss of the house and most of its contents.
