ESB HOPES TO HAVE POWER TO ALL COUNTY WEXFORD CUSTOMERS TODAY
The ESB says it hopes to have almost all customers in County Wexford – without power – reconnected today.
It follows extensive damage to power lines across the County last Wednesday.
Figures from the ESB’s Head of Distribution and Customer Services Mike Fitzgerald put the number of homes without power yesterday evening at less than 800.
That compares with 18-hundred yesterday morning.
The company has brought in extra crews from Dublin and Wicklow to help restore power after electricity lines were damaged on Wednseday following storm force winds.
A helicopter has also been hired to assess damage to power lines – caused mainly by fallen trees – across County Wexford.
However customers in more isolated areas of the county are being warned that they may not be re-connected today.
The ESB says it’s working to restore power to the main feeders first.
