Enniscorthy Flood Threat Passes

ENNISCORTHY FLOOD THREAT PASSES

High tide passed in Enniscorthy last night without any flooding

The town had been on high alert expecting the worst.

Gardai and Council officials had been on stanby overnight but for the moment the immediate threat of flooding has passed in the town

Town Clerk David Minogue said however the high water levels in the Slaney river pose a threat to public safety

Meanwhile Fianna Fáil TD John Browne raised the issue of flood damage in County Wexford in the Dáil.

He’s called on the Environment Minister Phil Hogan and Junior Finance Minister Brian Hayes to visit Courtown and the Marshmeadows area of New Ross after they suffered significant storm damage.
