ENNISCORTHY BANK RAIDERS MAY HAVE GOT €70,000

Gardai now say a double-barrelled sawn-off shotgun was fired at two gardai during yesterday morning’s bank raid in Enniscorthy.

A single shot was discharged directly at the two unarmed Gardai who had arrived at the Ulster Bank in Rafter Street.

The blast shattered the windscreen of the patrol car and narrowly missed the two officers inside it.

It’s now reckoned the raiders got away with up to €70,00 from the ATM – previously it was thought they left the scene with nothing.
