COLD WEATHER IN TAIWAN AND U.S LEAVES ALMOST 90 DEAD
57 people have died in a rare cold snap in Taiwan.
Temperatures hit a 16-year low of 4 degrees Celsius over the weekend.
A city spokesman told APF news agency that ‘it’s not the actual temperature, but the drop that’s too sudden for people’s circulatory systems’.
Meanwhile in the US, at least 30 people are reported to have died after one of the biggest snow storms in history swept across the East Coast.
Several of the deaths occurred while people were shoveling snow during the clean up.
