CO. WEXFORD HAS 5TH HIGHEST RATE OF AMPUTATIONS AS A RESULT OF DIABETES
21 people from County Wexford had their legs amputated last year as a result of diabetes.
This is the fifth highest incidence of amputees in the country as a result of diabetes after Dublin, Cork, Kildare and Limerick.
The HSE is concerned at the rise in the number of diabetics having to have their legs amputated, a situation which is preventable if caught in time.
