The Citizens’ Assembly is meeting today to decide the structure of their future discussions of the Eighth Amendment.
Today is the second of eight days of that the assembly is dedicating to the issue of abortion law in Ireland.
Yesterday the group of 99 citizens heard presentations from legal and medical experts on the practical applications and cases involving the Eighth Amendment and abortion law.
The group will conclude today’s session by deciding on the programme of work for the remaining three weekend sessions on the Eighth Amendment, which are scheduled to take place in early 2017.
